This is a request for support and nomination for me to run for the board of ABANA directors

To support me just respond to this thread and I'll PM you with the details.

10 nominations are needed to be on the ballot. I need 8 more.

Deadline is near. I just threw my hat into the ring.

I'm going to call ABANA today. I need to write my bio, send a few pics and get a petition signed by fellow members. I hope email confirmation will work. so below are two of the three requirements. If you are an ABANA member and would like to support my nomination please send an email to this address stating that. Just send an email to
centraloffice@abana.org

Telling them you support my nomination.

Thanks again,
Victor

About Victor Plitt;
I'm 54 years old and married for 22 years. "I can't" is not part of my lexicon.

Experience:
My  interest in blacksmithing began in high school were I forged my first wrecking bar. I have built or fabricated most of my life and I am an intermediate blacksmith by my own judgment. The Williams Grove blacksmith shop allows me to demonstrate to the public and I have also performed at private parties.

Why I blacksmith.
I think it's important for individuals to have outlets such as blacksmithing. It provides benefits that allow self realized success in independence, freedom and liberty. It provides a sense of purpose and security. It promotes innovation and industry. Participating in the blacksmith craft stimulates, inspires and encourages critical thinking and learning. It helps develop self.

My accomplishments:
Created TheIronForgeFire.com forum where I share my journey in blacksmithing with others. Writing the experiences including my mistakes for others to understand helps improve everyone’s quality of work. In return others have done the same to my benefit. Several experienced members on the forum are the reason it succeeds. Credit is due to them. Recently, I have organized a group at the Williams Grove Steam Engine Association. Learn more about my journey on Blacksmither radio podcast #50

Why consider me:
I believe there's growing interest in blacksmithing beyond the internet. Obstacles exist for people who want to get involved. Many tools are in place to bridge the gap and still there’s a difficulty in connecting. Marketing and branding is everything. But so is service and commitment. I believe I can help make those connections.

I would like to thank everyone for their support. I will be on the ballot. I'll be putting an outline of what I hope bring to the ABANA organization as we get closer to the election. You will find the posting under this thread.

More importantly I would like to hear from you what you think is important for the success of ABANA in the future.
