Just realized there is a category for bellows and blowers .
But this is a blacksmith tool restoration also.
If it is in the wrong location please feel free to move it to the correct one

I've wondered how it would be to make bellows. If one were to know that, it might be easier to restore older bellows. I'm thinking that some types of cloth might be able to replace some leather, though with obvious shortcomings as it is much more porous.

This one was at the auction house that I got my Austrian anvil from. It was there when I went to bid on another anvil a few months ago. I don't know what it went for because I left after I got outbid on the anvil.

It has a chapter on making a bellows. My bellows was made from this book. Not by me but another blacksmith who I talked to about it. I used to use hand crank blowers at shows but some won't let them in as they are too modern. Plus the public likes to see bellows working. And I can work the pole and move up and down to get things while pumping it. With the hand crank my hand has to stay on the crank. And sometimes the wind blows the heat onto the blower.

That's one of my favorite books as well. The illustrations are terrific.
