I really like making these. Craft beer lovers seem to appreciate unique hand crafted openers & I like to make & give them away.

So what is everyone making ?

I’ll start with posting my first opener, a simple style opener .
Nothing special, I gun blued it & still use it in our motorhome.

Yes, those are a popular project.  [thumb]

Rule #10;  "I can make that" translates to; "I'm to cheap to buy it new."

Very unique. How did you make the teeth?

Honestly, an angle grinder with a thin cutting disk for the initial cuts then precision files to true the edges & square the corners.
They’re to labor intensive for what you get for me to consider making them for anything other than a gift.
But that was kind of the point.

I made some Micarta last week .
Some with scratch pads & some layered.
The layers in the layered Micarta didn’t turn out very distinctive but I think when the clear casting resin I ordered arrives (Tuesday) I’ll try again .
Perhaps minus the amber tint the layers will pop a little more.

Still, for a first attempt I’m not to disappointed.
I mean I opens beer caps and fills the hand better than without any scales..
