Hi Folks.  I've been lurking for a while...decide to chime in.

My name is Paul.  I built my first  forge from a wok and the wife's hairdryer about 9 mo ago to see if this could be as fun as I always thought it would be.

After a few knives, some hooks, pokers and other implements I am full-bore addicted to coal fumes.

I'm about to install 10' x 18' shed as my shop and am building a forge from a brake drum and old mower deck.

I'm a 52 yr old manufacturing engineer by trade.  I do my forging in Fulton Co, PA

You all seem like some very fine folks...I look forward sharing this journey with you all.

Howdy, I made many a knife on a brake drum forge.  Be sure to share your work!

Rule #10;  "I can make that" translates to; "I'm to cheap to buy it new."

Welcome aboard! You can get a lot of work done in a shop like that, mine is about the same size. Good luck with it[thumb]
