I saw this complete 4 1/2" Indian Chief vise at a flea market this weekend and I really wanted to grab it. They were originally asking $125 for it, which around here is not great, but reasonable. After demonstrating that it was seized and would require some cleaning up just to get it to open and close, and then still taking a chance that it may have a stripped bolt I was able to haggle them down to $85. Here it is in my garage, lubricated and functioning great! Going to take a wire wheel to it this evening to remove the surface rust and clean it up well. After that, more WD 40 on the moving parts and Johnson's Paste Wax over the rest. This will become my portable post vise with a rolling stand because it is no 3 for me. nice find!

Thanks! Cleaned up nicely and works well. Jaws line up evenly and close all the way! Really nice and fair price. If you don't mind sharing you're set up when your done. I have a mount on my list to do still. I've needed it for projects and haven't been able to use it yet. It would have saved me a lot of time if I could get a suitable mount for my vise.

I have two mounted in a "permanent" position that I use a lot. I want this one to be portable so it depends what you want to do with it. I can post pics of the first two if you'd like. I haven't figured out how I want to mount this one yet but it will probably involve a post with wheels on the lower back to be tipped over and rolled or somehow mounted to a cheap dollie.
