Sad to say last Thursday my wife's grandmother passed away at 78 she was a good hearted hard working lady who I always respected and helped whenever me and my wife could we are proud to say she never spent one day in a nursing home she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a year and a half ago between me and my wife and my mother in law she stayed with family and was loved to the very last breath I felt like I should make one last project for her so I came up with this little memorial I think she would love it Click image for larger version - Name: IMG_20181117_225542243.jpg, Views: 21, Size: 4.48 MB

Beautiful work.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback I'm our local cemetery chairman and grounds keeper it dates back to the late 1700's I maintain the old stones and markers this style cross was popular in the early 1800's I have repaired a few of them and a few others from the cival war that's where the idea came from for the style

It's sad to say, but I once made a set of steel deer antlers to go on a grave.  They were stolen in less than a week.

Luckily we live in a rural apple farming area where most of us grew up knowing if you do something stupid the cops won't be called if you know what I mean but there are still plenty of people out there to ruin it for the rest of us

Sorry for your loss, Alzheimer's is a so bad, you kind of lose them twice.

The cross, I had to look closely to get the full impact of the cross, at first I didn't see
the division between the Anvil and the Cross but when it popped out at me... wow, nice work !

Something she will look down from above and see !
