Picked this one up over the weekend.  A nice coal forge.  I took the old one down because coal had gotten hard to find.  Recently I met a gentleman who sells   metallurgical coal in the Birmingham, Alabama area.  I'll pick some up tomorrow and let you guys know how it goes.

Just picked up a load of metallurgical coal.  For those in the North Alabama area you can message me and I'll put you in touch with the gentleman who sells it.  Blacksmithing is a new market for him.  He has coal and coke and most important will sell smaller portions.  IMG_0866.JPG

That's a real nice forge. I've tried to buy several at auction without any success. Your flue is interesting. Post a pic with the fire in the belly. I need to break ground on building my smitty soon.

Did you buy a ton of coal?

K, so the art of the trade.  The coal cost me a knife, with options for some kitchen cutlery in the future (for a 1000lb bag.)  He was going to load one of those in my yoter, but it just doesn't have the beef for that load.
