Hey guys,
I picked up these 12" contact wheels at an estate sale. I figured I could use them for a future 2x72 grinder build or converting my 2x42.

One issue that I'm not sure how to deal with is how to mount them. They came with hubs that have key slots and they are 2 different sizes.

My bro in law suggested putting them on his lathe and enlarging the holes enough to press fit bearings.
Although this sounds like it should work I thought I'd ask and see if anyone has had similar issues or a better idea.
Thanks

If you fit bearings on them, then they'll spin freely.

Are the other side of the holes the same?

You should be able to find a shaft to fit right through them.  Then you can grind out a key slot in the shaft.
Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

I would use one for the drive wheel and get a couple skateboard wheels for the belt.
