Well I went to the other Site, iforgeiron.com, and asked Steve Sells, as a Moderator, for an apology for his remarks about me being a drunk and making Stupid Comments, and to remove any Warnings and Reviews of my postings and guess what I got... :
(I did ask him twice, first time I got a WARNING, second time was as written)!

!

Sorry, there is a problem

Messenger Disabled

Error code: 2C137/9

I am locked out of the site also, can only use the "Contact Us" feature !

I send a "Contact Us" message and will see what Glenn has to say about the action.

Prior to this Lock Out, I sent Glenn, the Admin, a message asking about the situation and got his reply, "We are looking into it"!
Got that same response three times so I sent Steve Sells a message, (two actually) asking for an apology for his statements and was warned and then locked out, maybe even canceled my membership !

Funny how grown people, adults, can act like little kids when trying to cover something up and not wanting to respond to it !
Funny I have never said anything against the Site or any member, or any post for that matter, and yes I am not working steel yet, my problems, but I have not talked down that site in anyway, all I did was ask for an apology for Mr Steve Sells comments, and I got tossed !  Funny Thing, may just be Mr Sells doing his thing but I do not know.

I will stop now before I get beyond my tolerance point for things like this... sorry to take up your band width !

They won't cancel your membership, they like the big member numbers. It's just the dozen or two regulars are the only ones allowed to comment regularly or criticize newcomers. I told them to discontinue my membership and I still can log in to see I'm banned and have to contact the admin. I don't know why anyone wastes their time on there.

There is no point in appealing to logic on that site. You either go with the flow or you let it go.
No one is accountable and the older members get away with the most abusive remarks even insults on the private messages.
Funniest thing is that they go all religious when someone has a problem.

There are however some good people, mainly those who don't post much at all. And interesting enough those who don't post are the professional artistic blacksmith that I would like to interact with. I am not interested in smug pretend experience in making knifes or in the opinion of those who have a reply in almost every thread ever started on that site and 25,000 post in a few years.
I am currently on "moderation" meaning every post of mine has to be reviewed by a secret service person. Reason? Because I told off one of the sacred cows for being abusive to new people. Also said there is nothing dangerous about testing an LPG bottle to see if it has a valve fitted or not and let some gas go in the open.
Since I couldn't be reprimanded for someone else's abuse, I got done for "stating a dangerous practice" that is letting go some LPG from a bottle. As if I had posted instructions on how to build a RPG with soda cans.
It is a bit like playing with mentally ill patients. if you get something out of it, take your chances, if you don't, stay away.

I hope this site starts to grow because unfortunately there aren't many alternatives.

The reason their site is popular is because of Google.  People like me want to know more about blacksmithing, because I saw Forged On Fire or whatever that show is, and thought knife-making looks fun.  So people like me google "blacksmith forums" and guess what comes up first?  People like me go to that forum, join, and either ask a question while introducing oneself, or just read for a while.  I can't remember if I asked a question or not... I just remember how bizarre the site seemed.  Marc is right... it's like there's religious reverence for certain things.  But not the kind of religion where people see someone on the outside and convince them to come in--more like a secret society where "if you play your cards right and say what we want you to say the way we want you to say it, we might consider letting you be part of the group."

Anyway, this site, as the number of posts and active members go up, will increase in popularity.  It takes time, but it will happen.

Aren't there also some big names on that site... some of the people who were on that show?
Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

As it turns out I now can sign in to the other Site.
As stated above they don't want to lose the numbers... !
I have no Messaging capability and no notifications... I guess they are trying to stop me from messaging Mr Steve Sells.  I sent him two messages and got a Warning and a remove of my messaging privileges.

Funny stuff, too bad things go the way they do !

Most professionals don't have the time or mental bandwidth to worry about being online. If you want that association to learn, the best way is to find them in real life!

Skarza the Cave Troll,  I agree with your comments and I for one do not expect to learn a lot for talking to people but it ia all I can do at the moment.

I do need to find locals and see what comes up !

The other Site, I have picked up a few things about plumbing a Gas Forge, what to look for in the flame for as close to neutral flame as possible or as close as I will be able to get.   Actual use and adjustments will tell what was picked up OR NOT !

Just carrying on... I now can not post to any Threads !

I assume the idea is to get me to leave, not sure !

Funny thing is I have done nothing wrong, I guess that is what bothers me the most !

It's probably time to just walk away and not look back.  I understand that's not easy, especially since there was sort of a personal attack, and on top of that you've mentioned OCD tendencies, but you'd probably do yourself a lot of good if you never visited the site again.
Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

theengel,

You are correct in this matter, as far as my well being, but I am also an instigator at heart and find it hard to leave it alone.

I go back in and see what has changed if anything, just for GRINS !  [biggrin]

I am getting tired of it and will probably follow your advice but I need to hang in there for a while more !

Thanks

As the Anvil Sounds !

I went to FaceBook, the iForgge Iron Page, entered a post saying I was disappointed in the way I was treated and still was looking for an Apology from Mr Sells... got a response, "Stop Spamming" !

LoL !  Funny how things work.

If anyone thinks my posting here about my trip through the other site is inappropriate... please say so, I will TRY to stop posting about "As the Anvil Sounds", LoL !

I will keep asking them and keep asking until a see a response from the site OR I will be Band rom the Site... either way as I have said I was always happy with the other site, like the attitudes, similar to mine, but this one Moderator, he need to be controlled !

Thanks for reading, Ltr !

This will be the last posting for a while in this thread.

I am Officially Band from iForge Iron Web Site for making a post about not keeping on subject and some Moderator, Mr Steve Sells, took offense to me for some reason and started a vendetta to get me out of that site...  well that may be over kill, but I felt that way.

I was blocked from all avenues to get an answer from the site so I had no alternative but to go to the old "FB"...  I went to their page on Face Book and ask d there for some response from the site... as I posted above I got blamed for SPAMMING... God L love this world we live in !

I added another post to the FB Page and told them I wasn't SPAMMING, just asking for something from a site that has blocked me from their communication system.

Didn't matter, so I am Band from the Site, maybe for the best but I did like the people on the site.

I will continue to post on FB until I can't and see what happens.

Funny how things went bad and only got worse...  and the funniest part is I don't understand what I did !

Thanks for listening to anyone that is reading this Thread...  !
