I need a horn or bick for opening holes that I can attatch to the end of my rail anvil.  Is there something out there I could use that would hold up? Maybe something off of a farm implement or something?

If you can find the end of an old hay fork that would work. I used one in my homemade anvil

I have seen people at other places carve a small horn out of the base flange of a rail road track anvil. They mounted it vertically like Anthony San Miguel's pic in your other post.

On the opposite end of where his hot cut is you could cut a small horn or bick. He might be able to explain it better than me, I'm pretty sure he knows the RR track I'm talking about.

Also a pickaxe or rail road sledge hammers can be modified as well. There is one that is pointier but I don't know the proper name for it.

Good luck.

A smaller piece of rail shaped into a bickern or however you like and then held in a vice works good. RR rail is excellent to make tools with, if you get creative.
